In neighborhood community centers, events that are able to engage these foreigners should be held. The events should be of a mixed variety whereby people from different races and cultures.
Have less prejudice towards foreigners. Interact more with them. Stop discriminating them for "Stealing jobs"
We can find a way to overcome the language barrier, as well as dismissing popular but often untrue stereotypes of different people.
Our local people should be more friendly and invite towards the foreigners. Events should also be hosted to accommodate foreigners as well as local people so that they can meet and bond together.
Foreigners can be better integrated into our society by the use of and integration program into the job they are going into. New immigrant members who have taken up jobs could be paired up with people working under the same department so as to help the foreigners communicate and work with the Singaporean people there.
I feel that foreigners can be integrated better as one of us by improving their communication skills to speak English better, as it is commonly known that people with not as good English get discriminated in a sense. GRAMMAR NAAAZZIIII
Singaporeans and foreigners need to interact more, and stop having bad impressions about each other.
Have a yearly holiday to appreciate foreigner in Singapore, and hold events for people to gain more knowledge about foreign people on that day.
During our interactions with them, we can try to not see them as people from another country but people who are together with us in our society. When this mental border is breached, foreigners will be able to integrate better.
We could stop with the assumption that foreigners are "stealing" our jobs. If foreigners are able to "steal" our jobs, how would other Singaporeans not be skilled enough to take up the jobs as well?
People should not assume things about each other and learn to accept cultural differences.
Foreigners can be better integrated through the better understanding of them with the Singaporean's point of view. This way, there will be lesser conflict.
There should be a "Foreigner Appreciation Day" to appreciate what foreign workers/talents have done to contribute to our country. Furthermore, to help them integrate better they should be involved more in racial and religious harmony in Singapore and get to know their other race colleagues better.
1) Firstly, the government can conduct courses to new foreigners that are staying in Singapore regarding the culture, places of attractions, social norms etc. This can help to educate them about the Singapore's lifestyle and it will ease them in their transition into Singapore's society. Secondly, the government must target the root of the problem by encouraging Singaporeans not to look down on Stereotype or look down on foreigners as they are here for a better future and contribute to the Singapore's economy. With these in place, the foreigners can adapt to our society easily.
